Joe Manetti - International Daddy Bear 2009

Our in studio guest this week is Joe Mannetti, Joe, is an openly Gay actor, outreach activist, and freelance writer. He grew up in New York, and he moved to Southern California in 1986. In the past several years he has devoted his time to serving the LGBT communities as an HIV Testing Counselor, a Public Speaker with groups including G.L.I.D.E. (Gays & Lesbians Initiating Dialogue for Equality), and a Fundraiser for support services that benefit Transgender people, LGBT youth, and individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS. He put himself through graduate school earning a Master of Science degree in Counseling, and he is the current Mr. International Daddy Bear 2009. Film projects that he will be appearing in include a documentary about body image diversity by award winning filmmaker Julian Dahl and a cameo in TLA Releasing’s “BearCity.” He was named “Best Bear Fundraiser” in the “Best of the Bears 2009” poll conducted by The Complete Bear website. Joe’s believes that “…it is those who dare to be different that truly make the world a better place for all of us.”
